About the teachers
Margaux Mays is a digital marketer and maker. Her childhood love of crafting turned into a handmade jewelry line, Margaux Bijoux, and grew into a passion for organizing creative events that bring people together, build relationships, and foster community.
Jacklyn Garland is a local glass artist who also loves making glass jewelry, photography, and teaching craft classes.
Maya James is a writer, community reporter and creative who launched her Maya Loves… brand in early 2019. She specializes in curated gift boxes and making scented whipped shea butter. She strives to uplift and support women, by encouraging radical self-care.
Renisha James got started with lettering on chalkboards, lending her skills to retail stores around Chicago and creating a chalkboard business for customers seeking signs for weddings, room makeovers, birthdays, retirement parties and more. Her love for lettering and calligraphy grew beyond chalkboards as she continued to discover the unlimited possibilities of word art. She also owns an online t-shirt shop that features her favorite designs based on music, Chicago pride and self-love.
